Clean Break’s £240,000 Catalyst Arts success
£240,000 Catalyst Arts funding has been awarded to Clean Break. Through the Catalyst Arts: capacity building and match funding arts scheme, the funding is delivered across three years, with the amounts in years 2 and 3 matching new funds to be raised by the company. The award will make a lasting difference to the company’s commitment to produce new and exciting theatre on women, crime and justice, engage vulnerable women in theatre education, and expose new audiences to the arts.
Clean Break's Executive Director, Lucy Perman MBE, said:
This funding comes at the most pertinent time in Clean Break’s history. In the current economic climate, there are even more stories that need telling. Our playwrights have a huge appetite to write plays of real meaning, integrity and humanity which speak to audiences in theatres, festivals, prisons and communities across the country. The award will help galvanise funders to invest in our theatre-making and theatre education, demonstrating to them the value of their support and making each donation go further.
