Clean Break returns to Latitude to present Rebecca Prichard’s remarkable play Dream Pill, following its hugely successful runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Soho Theatre.
Meet Tunde and Bola, nine years old, from Nigeria. Two girls sex-trafficked to a UK city share with you their child’s-eye view of the journey they have taken, the people they have encountered and their strange ways: the air hostess who smiles so hard, the ‘bossman’ who talks in his sleep and the men who wait in the dark shadows.
Written by acclaimed British playwright Rebecca Prichard and directed by Tessa Walker, Dream Pill was originally staged at Soho Theatre in November 2010 as part of Clean Break’s universally acclaimed production Charged, created by six of the most exciting and distinctive female voices in British theatre. It has since been presented at the Underbelly during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011, on tour in Scotland in March 2012, and for professionals at Scotland Yard and in the criminal justice system.
Clean Break had its Latitude Festival debut last year with Fatal Light and Dancing Bears.
Latitude 2012 takes place 12-15 July 2012 in Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk. We look forward to seeing you there!
