Make a Donation and Help us Make a Difference to More Women’s Lives
Clean Break is recognised nationally as a leading provider of specialist
theatre and arts-based education services to women offenders and women at
risk of offending due to drug or alcohol use or mental health needs.
We support women in breaking the cycle of crime and developing skills, qualifications,
confidence and tangible progression routes onto higher education or employment.
This dedicated work is complemented and enhanced each year by a high profile
touring theatre production focussing on the complex stories of women, crime
and the criminal justice system. Performances at theatres and women’s
prisons nationally keep the women’s stories high on the public agenda
and encourage our audiences to explore the issues with us in more detail.
Clean Break aims to bring about change in the lives of the women we work with
and at a national level through changing attitudes to women and crime. We
have come a long way in 26 years since we were founded by two women in prison.
Our services are much in demand and we have ambitious plans for:
- More education work, affecting the lives of individual women and supporting them through their education at Clean Break.
- New writing projects for professional and non-professional women writers.
- Increased work with young women offenders and those at risk of offending through school exclusions.
- Increased touring to theatres and prisons with accompanying education work.
- Increased links with women’s prisons across the country.
- Training for artists and criminal justice professionals wanting to learn more about our ways of working.
We rely heavily on the generous support of our funders and donors. We would
like to invite you to contact us to discuss funding opportunities in one or
more of these areas. We can tailor funding packages for individual donors
and company donations and sponsorship.
