Bursting out of the theatre and into the bars, restaurants and stairwells of Soho, Charged presents the heartbreaking truth about the lives of women in the criminal justice system, exposed in six new plays by some of the most exciting and distinctive female voices in British theatre.
"In November 2010, Clean Break took over Soho Theatre with Charged – a season of six short plays by E V Crowe, Sam Holcroft, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Chloë Moss, Winsome Pinnock and Rebecca Prichard.
Each stand-alone half hour play had its own specific theme under the umbrella theme of women and crime. Each play occupied its own theatrical world and the audience journeyed through the plays from the top floor, to the main house and down to the basement. Written for a female-only cast, together these plays created a powerful, yet subtle conversation about women and society."
