Clean Break's old Education Department has been replaced by the new Members' Programme.

In the new model, Members (previously students and graduates) will join the company and participate in regular theatre-making workshops with high quality theatre artists, underpinned by health and well-being groups and practical and emotional support.

Our ambition is for our Members (women with lived experience of the criminal justice system and women at risk of entering it) to participate fully in the company’s creative life and further their careers in the arts. This means being involved in our productions, contributing your ideas and helping to shape plans for the future. New members are recruited every year. We do not require any previous experience in the arts, but are looking for Members with an interest in being creative and the ability to work with others and make a regular commitment.

Many previous Members are now studying and working in theatre and the arts as performers, designers, and stage managers.

How to Apply

Our programme is open to women who have experience of the criminal justice system or are at risk of offending due to drug alcohol or mental health issues.
If you are interested in becoming a Member of Clean Break, you will need to join the programme. You can contact us directly or if you have a keyworker a referral can be made for you, the details are listed below. We will begin recruiting in June: all enrolments will be in place for September.
